The much-anticipated Hollywood musical has finally arrived. In the fourth remake of this romantic classic, Bradley Cooper makes his directorial debut whilst Lady Gaga gives a show-stopping performance in her first leading role.
In A Star is Born we see Lady Gaga shed her pop persona to play Ally – a struggling singer-songwriter who still lives at home with her father. She is soon discovered by Cooper’s character, Jackson Maine, a country star struggling with addiction and as they fall in love, her career begins to rise whilst his spirals downwards.
The film delves into the challenges of living in an impossible spotlight and caring for someone troubled, without losing yourself. We are left with a love story from an unlikely duo, full of authentic raw moments and eclectic live music performances. Who knew Bradley Cooper could sing?
